Emma Charnock promoted to Partner at Provenio Litigation LLP

Provenio Litigation LLP has continued its expansion by promoting Emma Charnock to

Partner.

Emma qualified as a solicitor at DLA Piper in 2014 and progressed to Senior Associate at the global firm before joining Provenio Litigation LLP in November 2019.

Emma is ranked by The Legal 500 as a “rising star” where she is described as “a name to watch going forward”. She is also praised for bringing “intelligence and energy to the team.”

With extensive experience advising clients in respect of complex high value litigation across a wide range of sectors, Emma’s practice covers a broad range of disputes from investment disputes, professional negligence claims to breach of long term commercial contract claims, as well as shareholder and partnership disputes.

Emma was previously seconded to the Information Commissioner’s Office where she was part of the Enforcement Team during the ICO's investigation into the use of personal data and data analytics in political campaigns, which included the activities of Facebook and Cambridge Analytica. She also spent time on secondment at the litigation team of a big four clearing bank.

Commenting on her promotion, Emma, who is also Chair of Merseyside Young Professionals said:

“I am absolutely delighted to become a partner of such an exciting and dynamic firm. Provenio is unlike any other opportunity in the market, working on complex high value cases whilst building a vibrant new business, through retaining and winning new instructions, together with continuing to invest in young legal talent from the city. It is a privilege to work with the Provenio team and grow this fantastic firm.”

Mark Goodwin, founder and managing partner at Provenio Litigation said:

“This promotion is extremely well deserved. Emma is an outstanding lawyer with a proven track record in the successful management of high value litigation. She is a huge asset to our firm.”

Provenio Litigation LLP was launched in 2019 with the aim of creating the leading business litigation firm outside London, using a team that all formerly worked together at DLA Piper in Liverpool.

The firm has realised its vision by attracting high value instructions, breaking into new areas of litigation, growing the business through a ground-breaking £50 million litigation funding agreement and investing in the future through the launch of a new graduate solicitor apprenticeship programme.

Provenio Litigation LLP was ranked Tier 1 for Commercial Litigation: Liverpool in this year’s Legal 500.

In ranking the firm in Tier 1 for the third year in succession, The Legal 500 praised Provenio Litigation LLP for its “unrivalled handling” of “big ticket” commercial litigation.

The firm has also been shortlisted for the Outstanding Team Award (Litigation) at the Liverpool Law Society Awards 2022, having previously been shortlisted for two national awards - Disputes Boutique of the Year at The Lawyer Awards and Boutique Law Firm of the Year at the British Legal Awards.
